Song of the Fish Gutters - Tripple
00:00 / 00:00

This is a recording of 'the Song of the Fish Gutters' done at our home in the North East of Scotland in 2018. The song was written by Ewan MacColl about the women from the fishing communities of the North East of Scotland who would follow the fishing boats from the very top of Scotland down to Yarmouth in England. Their job was to gut, pack and preserve the herring. The song mentions many villages close to where Tripple are from.

We aim to release our first EP album in 2024: more details soon to follow!

Cit Lennox

Cit is currently living and working in Glasgow where they work as a Community Musician, specialising in music within Additional Support Needs settings.
They have enjoyed success with Indie Pop outfit Peplo who currently have an album in the works, and have joined Live Music Now Scotland with pop-folk duo The Willows, who have booked a gig at Celtic Connections 2024.
Cit is currently working with a community development trust, delivering the dynamic mural Local Legends project, funded by Glasgow City Council.

Cit also works with the Robert Burns World Federation on their youth outreach programmes, the same programme which resulted in an invitation and performance at Downing Street in 2008.

Annie Lennox

Annie's love of Scottish music prompted her to attended the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music in 2015 with whom she toured France. She took part in two summers of Feis Rois ceilidh trails. She has won many awards including the Young Burnsian of the Year 2013 by the Robert Burns World Federation. Annie also plays fiddle and clarsach (harp).
Aside from music, Annie is a planetary geologist with a passion for improving diversity in science. Annie holds a BSc (Hons) in Earth Science from Glasgow University, an MScRes in Geoscience from Edinburgh University, and is currently based near Milton Keynes working towards a PhD at the Open University. Her project involves geologically mapping the planet Mercury.

Jill Andrews

By virtue of age and circumstance, Jill is the mother of Cit and Annie (though not by authority: that belongs to Annie!).
Jill studied architecture at Glasgow Art School and has practised in North Uist, Skye and Whitekirk before settling near Portsoy.
Jill sings with the award winning Aurora Choir and Aurora Productions in Huntly and loves the variety in music.

Jill enjoys swimming in the north sea, walking for miles, and yoga. She delights in the many opportunities, brought through music, for meeting new, wonderful people and exploring new places.
There are few things she enjoys more than sitting down with Cit and Annie and arranging new Tripple sets over a glass of wine or two.
